Where Lewis's official detail lives

Three Lewis sources carry nearly everything public about NP practicums. The 2026-27 graduate catalog sets credits, course numbers and the clock hours printed in each course description. The MSN FAQ explains how placement works: students identify preceptors, the Clinical Placement Office facilitates, and Clinical Coordinators or track lead faculty approve. The CONHS contract portal and its status legend show what happens after you submit a site and preceptor.

What Lewis keeps for enrolled students, such as the graduate nursing handbook, deadlines and preceptor forms, is not on the public web. These guides say so wherever it matters and point you to your course, your track coordinator or the Clinical Placement Office for the current rule.

Questions Lewis students ask

Does Lewis publish a graduate nursing handbook?

Not on its public website. Lewis's catalog refers students to program handbooks, which enrolled students receive through their program. These guides rely on the catalog, the MSN FAQ and the contract portal, and they flag each rule you should confirm with your track coordinator.

Which Lewis office handles practicum placements?

The Clinical Placement Office in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Lewis's FAQ calls it the facilitator and primary point of contact in the placement cycle, and it runs the contract portal. Clinical Coordinators and track lead faculty approve preceptors and sites.

Is anything here specific to online students?

Yes. Online NP students still complete in-person practicums near home, so the pages on states, RN licenses, out-of-Illinois placements and affiliation agreements matter most to them. Lewis authorizes online graduate nursing enrollment in 18 jurisdictions.
