What is at Oak Brook
Lewis's campus page describes the Oak Brook site, Suite 700 at 1111 W. 22nd Street, as home to state-of-the-art nursing simulation labs and "outpatient" offices. The graduate FAQ says the seven patient exam rooms there are used by nurses advancing their knowledge to become nurse practitioners, and that the acute care labs simulate emergency room and critical care settings.

Lewis has not given the Oak Brook labs a branded name, so you will see them described simply as the simulation, health assessment and acute care labs. The Romeoville campus has simulation space of its own in South Hall, where the College of Nursing and Health Sciences is based and where new simulation labs and a hospital-like setting were added in 2009.

Lewis's catalog says MSN courses run on any Lewis campus site, at selected cohort sites or online, and it does not promise the full curriculum at any one location. When you read a course schedule, the Fall 2024 booklet coded Oak Brook sections OBK, Romeoville ROM and online ONL; confirm those codes in the current schedule, since they come from a 2024 booklet.
Lewis's staff directory lists the graduate Coordinator of Clinical Placements roles in South Hall at Romeoville and places an undergraduate clinical placement and community partnership coordinator at Oak Brook. For NP placements, the Clinical Placement Office is your primary point of contact wherever you take classes.
Do online NP students come to Oak Brook?
Lewis publishes no required on-campus intensive for its MSN NP tracks. The one campus element it names for graduate NP work is lab time: the DNP page places Health Assessment lab experiences at Oak Brook, and NURS 60700 Health Assessment for Advanced Practice Nursing is a lab course in the NP specialty core that every NP track completes before its practicums.
Whether your own NURS 60700 section meets on campus is something your course schedule and track coordinator will show. Lewis's online programs page also notes that some online courses need a campus visit for placement testing or proctored exams, while Honorlock handles online proctoring. Lab time at Oak Brook builds skills; it is not your practicum. Lewis publishes nothing that counts simulation or lab hours toward the 540 to 630 supervised clinical hours, and its contract legend ties practicum time to an approved site and preceptor(s).
DNP Immersions at Oak Brook
Lewis requires attendance at a minimum of two DNP Immersions to graduate, and one of them includes the presentation of your final scholarly project. The DNP page describes them as annual events at Oak Brook. Lewis does not post the dates publicly, so watch for them from your program and protect them in your work and residency calendar.
Immersions are the in-person anchor of an otherwise online degree. Your residency and project implementation hours happen elsewhere, at the practice setting, which is why a residency site close to home usually matters more than one close to Oak Brook. BSN to DNP students carry the same two-immersion requirement, and anyone flying or driving in from another state should book early and set residency hours around the trip.
Oak Brook and your clinical search
Oak Brook sits in DuPage County, home to about 934,000 people by the Census Bureau's 2025 estimate and to hospitals such as Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage, Edward and Elmhurst. According to its student page, Northwestern Medicine's west-suburbs form, which covers Central DuPage and Delnor, is not for APRN students who need patient care hours, a reminder that each health system sets its own rules for NP students.
For most students the better question is not what is near Oak Brook but what is near home and work. Evening classes at Oak Brook on top of a nursing job leave limited hours for clinicals, so the preceptor's location and clinic days count for more than distance to campus.
